Heavy rains in the Telugu states have severely damaged the railway system. The Railways has cancelled several trains. Several trains have been diverted.

Vijayawada and Secunderabad divisions were hit by rains on Saturday and Sunday.
The railway track between Intikanne-Kesamudram and Mahabubabad-Tallapusapalli railway stations on the Vijayawada-Secunderabad route was severely damaged.
The work was taken up on a war footing as the railway track was washed away due to flood water from the tanks adjacent to the track.
This is the route to Delhi, Mumbai and Hyderabad. Traffic on the Chennai and Howrah routes was severely disrupted.
As of Monday evening, 481 trains have been cancelled and 152 trains have been diverted while 13 trains have been partially cancelled, Secunderabad Zonal CPRO A Sridhar said.
Water is also flowing on the track near Rayanapadu in Vijayawada division.
He told the BBC. “The track at Mahabubabad was washed away due to 40 cm of rain on a single day. At least one track is likely to be restored by Tuesday evening.”
Sanghamitra, who was stranded at Kesamudram station, said food was provided to the train passengers with the help of NGOs.
Sridhar said some trains that were supposed to go to Chennai were diverted and run via Guntur.
Due to the current rains, water has entered singareni coal mines and railway lines have been damaged, disrupting the transportation of coal to several thermal stations.
