The death toll in a landslide in Kerala’s Wayanad district has crossed 300. Officials said the whereabouts of many are yet to be ascertained.
The landslide occurred in the early hours of Tuesday (July 30). The villages of Churalmalai, Mundakke, Attamalai and Noolpuzha were the worst affected.

The death toll in the accident has crossed 150. Due to heavy rains, heavy landslides occurred in Meppadi, Churalmalai, Mundakke, Attamalai and other areas.
Many buildings, including houses, shops and schools, were buried in the mud.
Army, National Disaster Response Force, Fire Department and locals are involved in the rescue operation. Bodies are emerging as we dig for those trapped in the mud.
