Texas Road Accident: Four Indians were killed when five vehicles collided in Texas, USA. The fire broke out in the SUV in the accident. This increased the risk. Let’s take a look at the full details of the incident.
Three people from Hyderabad and one from Tamil Nadu were killed when five vehicles collided on US Route 75 in Anna, Texas. The crash took place between five vehicles at around 3:30 pm on Friday. The incident came to light of late.
The tragedy occurred on Friday when the victims were connected via a carpooling app and were on their way to Bentonville, Arkansas. The SUV in which they were travelling caught fire in the accident. The bodies were burnt. The authorities are relying on a DNA test to confirm their identity.
The victims have been identified as Aryan Raghunath Orampati, Farooq Shaikh, Lokesh Palacharla and Darshini Vasudevan. All the victims were travelling in the same car. The four were connected via a carpooling app to travel to Bentonville, Arkansas. It was through the app that the authorities identified the victims.
Aryan, an engineering graduate from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham in Coimbatore, had gone to his relative’s house in Dallas and was returning home. Lokesh, who hails from Hyderabad, was on his way to Bentonville to see his wife. Darshini, a master’s degree graduate from the University of Texas at Arlington, was on her way to see her uncle.
The accident occurred due to a speeding truck which resulted in a massive fire as the cars collided. The victims were trapped in the fire. The bodies were burnt beyond recognition due to the intensity of the fire. Identifying the victims has become a challenge for the authorities.
Efforts are being made to ascertain the identity of the victims through DNA testing using DNA fingerprints, teeth and bone residues. The family members of the deceased are expressing grief. This is what has happened if they are sent to live happily ever after. Darshini Vasudevan’s parents spoke to her till before the accident.
Darshani’s parents said they had appealed to Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar for help. “Our parents are really worried. We have been in mourning ever since we came to know about my daughter’s condition,” her father said.
